May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month
Possibly one of the most common types of cancer, skin cancer is also one of the most preventable. By limiting your exposure to the sun, and practicing sun safety (always wearing sunscreen), you can greatly reduce your chances of developing skin cancer.
You should be suspicious of any moles that you have that are Asymmetrical, have jagged borders, different shades of color, or are larger than a pencil eraser.
To determine your skin type, there is a quiz at http://www.1stholistic.com/Beauty/skin/skin_test.htm.
To assess your risk of developing skin cancer, and for more information, http://www.muschealth.com/assessment/skin_cancer_prev/skquiz.htm is a good resource.
Please contact our office for an appointment if you have any worrisome moles or other growths.
Come in during the month of May (for any reason), and receive 10% off a skin ceuticals sunscreen purchase.
